We are excited to share plans for an important new development on our school grounds: the creation of a dedicated Skills Wall by Shay Murtagh Precast LTD and Astro Turf Area by Schoolsgrass.ie. This project is designed to provide our students with an engaging, safe, and versatile space to develop a wide range of physical and personal skills.
The Skills Wall will offer opportunities for activities such as ball handling, coordination drills, target practice, and individual or small-group training. Paired with a high-quality astro turf surface, this area will ensure year-round usability, regardless of weather conditions. It will allow students to stay active, build confidence, and enjoy structured as well as free play in a safe environment.
This development goes beyond sport. It supports key aspects of our students’ growth, including teamwork, resilience, focus, and overall wellbeing. It will also enhance our PE programme and provide an inclusive space where all students, regardless of ability, can participate and improve at their own pace. To bring this vision to life, we are seeking the support of our wider school community.
As with many projects of this scale, funding is a significant factor. We are inviting parents, local businesses, and community partners to support us through sponsorship or contributions.
All sponsors will feature on a printed programme for our upcoming performance of Aladdin in Mullingar Arts Centre, all sponsors will appear on our school website and all sponsors will feature in a promotional video which will be published to our school Youtube channel. Your involvement—whether big or small—will have a lasting impact on the daily experiences of our students.
We truly believe this project will become a valuable and well-used feature of our school for years to come, benefiting current and future students alike. With your help, we can make this vision a reality.
